This type of sleeper, consisting of two blocks linked by a metal spacer, has been widely used on the French railway network since the 1950s. While they are gradually being replaced by monoblock sleepers, they are still in operation. 13 million twin-block sleepers have been produced in our factories. They are certified by SNCF, both for the sleeper itself and for the approved fastening systems.
